Taylor C. is my sweet bride. Taylor is my sweet bride because she was nothing less than sugary sweet on her wedding day! For Taylor’s base, we used a mattifying, full coverage foundation as well as the “baking” method with loose powder to set her T-zone to prevent excess oil.

When baking, do foundation, concealer, and powder exactly as you normally would, then with a damp makeup sponge, pick up a good amount of loose powder  (I swear by Banana Baking powder) and completely cover the sections of your face that you want to prevent creasing or excess oil. After 10 minutes, brush off the excess powder and continue your makeup as normal with contouring, blush, and highlighting.

For this sweet bride, we worked with light matte grays and on her eyes. We darkened her outer corner with one shade darker than the rest of her eyes to add some dimension. I do not often work with grays or blacks on Brides because they are quick to get too heavy on the eyes, but I felt comfortable doing light grays on this Bride because of the theme and colors of her wedding.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner WILL NOT MOVE on a Bride through tears, sweat, time, humidity, or movement. Taylor swears by this liner as do I. This eye liner can be unforgiving so I will line with powder or a different liquid liner, then set it with Kat Von D’s liner to ensure it stays in place all day.

This sweet bride had the kindest attitude and an almost tangible love in the room while she and her bridesmaids were getting ready. I love the picture posted at the bottom of this blog because to me Taylor’s facial expression says, “I missed you,” while they embrace in the sweetest hug though they’d only been apart for the day.

Taylor, thank you for letting me be a part of your special day! You were so gorgeous and…sweet!
