Bridal Prep 101: Best False Lashes for Bridal Makeup
It is no secret that most Bride’s wear false lashes on their wedding day (as a MUA that niches in wedding makeup, I practically beg all brides to wear them), but picking the best false lashes for your face, eyes, and desired makeup look can be tricky. Here are the best false lashes for each bride!
Ardell’s Demi Wispies
Demi Wispies are a great lash to wear if you want a more natural makeup look. These lashes do not have a heavy band and are easily movable. Demi Wispies run between $5-8 depending on where you buy them. They are very light and sit well on the eyes. These lashes add extra length in the right places as they are shorter on the inner corner and longer on the outer corner like our natural lashes! Demi Wispies are a great starting point for first time lash wearers and Brides who want a more natural looking makeup look with a little somethin’ extra.
KISS Lash Couture Naked Drama “Lacey”
KISS lashes came out of left field and surprised me in the last year! This brand has a wide range of lashes from short and light to thick and dense, and the price is right! KISS lashes cost between $6-11 depending on where you purchase them. These “Lacey” lashes are a step up from Demi Wispies; they are still light and not too thick, but they will add a bit more drama with the black band (this makes going without liner easier if that’s your cup of tea). The most important part of lashes is being comfortable in them, especially for long wear like a wedding day. These lashes are comfortable and look phenomenal!
Lilly Lashes “Miami”
Lilly Lashes in “Miami” are UNBELIEVABLE. These lashes are the perfect length paired with the perfect amount of volume. For a bride, I don’t recommend lashes that are too long because when the bride’s eyes are open, they will cover up her liner and eye shadow. It’s important to pick a pair of lashes that falls right in between thick & long. Lilly Lashes are a high end false eye lash, so these will make a customer dig a little deeper in their pocket (about $30), but they are 100% worth every penny. These lashes can be worn multiple times and even with a band, they are still comfortable and airy; a personal fave!
It is important to look and feel beautiful on your wedding day, but the most important part is being comfortable. Wedding days normally start for Brides around 7 am. The bride is the last person to get her makeup done, so she is normally finished anywhere between 1 - 3 pm (depending on the time of the wedding). This means that Brides wear false lashes for a total of 9-11 hours on their wedding day! Be sure to book a makeup artist that knows how to apply false lashes correctly so they are not uncomfortable nor move throughout the day in humid climates, crying, sweating, and dancing.
