Katherine W. : My Cinderella Bride (Party of 3)

Katherine is my “Cinderella Bride.” This Bride transformed from sweet, natural beauty to a ballroom stunner in her gorgeous ball gown wedding dress and big, loose curls! For Katherine’s makeup, we worked with a matte, light colored foundation shade because of her fair skin tone. This bride wanted to stay in the realm of her natural beauty, so we used a full coverage foundation, but (as usual) used a damp beauty blender to apply it. A damp beauty blender is a great way to control the amount of product being applied to the skin.

Because my Cinderella Bride has fair skin and her hair was pulled back, I was certain that I bronzed her temples, cheekbones, and jawline. I contoured Katherine’s face as I do every bride, but I bronzed her skin as well. [NYX Professional Matte Bronzer in “Medium” is a good dupe for Benefit Cosmetic’s Hoola Matte Bronzer] When we contour, we shape whatever part of the face we are working on (ex: nose, cheeks, jaw, temples, eyes, collarbone, the list goes on), but when we bronze, we are adding color and a sun-kissed look into the skin. Because Katherine’s wedding was in February, I made sure to bronze and contour (normally I only contour brides) so she would look sun kissed on her glowing, fair skin and in her white ball gown.

I targeted Katherine’s highlight very specifically after bronzing and contouring. [Wet-n-Wild’s MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in “Blossom Glow” is a good dupe for Becca Cosmetic’s Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed Highlighter in “Moonstone”] I wanted her to have a bridal glow, but I didn’t want her to look like she had just stepped off the beach. I highlighted her brow bone, top of her eyebrow, the tops of her cheekbones, her cupid’s bow, and very lightly, the tip of her nose. I wanted my Cinderella Bride to look glowing as the sun set and the chilly weather rolled in.

My Cinderella Bride was so gorgeous in her ball gown wedding dress! Her bridesmaids were fun and relaxed all morning swapping stories and cracking jokes. Katherine has some very good and close friends, and that was made apparent to me on her wedding day.
