Courtney F. in full glam on her Wedding Day {October 2017}

Courtney is my beautiful “Natural Beauty” bride. She requested very light and bright eyes as well as light coverage foundation on the skin. Her reference photos had no eyeliner on the eyes and only one or two eye shadows. When working with a bride who wants very light makeup (They may say “I don’t want a ‘face full’ of makeup,” “I want to look like me,”), honor that request and do what is in your capacity to make the bride comfortable and happy with their makeup.

          We ended up adding a thin line of liquid liner to the top lid to make her eyes pop a bit more in photos, but I still worked with a light coverage foundation for the skin. To make certain that her eyes popped in photos and from the altar, I doubled up on her inner eye, brow boned, cheek bone, and Cupid’s bow highlight (Shimmering SkiPerfector® Pressed Highlighter in “Opal”).

We went with bronzing her face instead of contouring to keep her face looking naturally tanned instead of sharply contoured (we tend to use a heavier hand with contouring). Courtney did not want false lashes with her makeup, but I still used a waterproof mascara (use waterproof liner and mascara for Brides- they tend to cry) on her lashes to combat tears and humidity. Her light and bright makeup was topped off with medium red/berry lipstick. Courtney had one of the most sincere smiles I’ve ever seen!

          This natural beauty could have walked down the aisle with no makeup on and would have stunned! All of her bridesmaids were interacting sweetly with her and her mother while swapping stories from high school. Courtney and her husband got married on the beach which completely fit her “natural beauty” bridal look.

          Courtney, thank you for having me on your wedding day! You were a gorgeous bride!
