Erica B. : My Ready Bride (Party of 5)

Erica was my “Ready” Bride. She wanted dramatic eyes and big lashes to go with her over-head veil and classic long train with her sweetheart top ball gown. This Bride wanted classic eyes and lips for her wedding day. We kept her makeup full coverage, all while allowing her natural glow to shine through.

Because Erica has big, beautiful eyes, I did not want to take away from that when she was veiled. To keep her eyes as big and bright as they are, after we finished eye shadow (browns and creams) and top eye liner, we lined her bottom water line with a cream colored pencil; this kept her eyes wide and bright!

I call Erica my “Ready” Bride because she was ready for every single thing that her big day could have given her. When I arrived at 8 am, she was already awake and ready. Her bridesmaid’s gifts, robes, glasses and name tags were lined up beautifully and ready. Her dress and veil were hanging up ready.

This lovely Bride wanted full coverage makeup to “WOW” her husband and guests with! We worked out of the Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette from Morphe for her eyeshadow. This palette has every color we could possibly need for a Bride (light brown to black to teal blue to shimmery maroon).

**PRO TIP: If you’re going to be using dark eyeshadow colors that have a lot of fall-out, do the eyes first, clean up with a makeup wipe, and then do face makeup!** After applying concealer under her eyes, we set with banana powder to make sure the coverage would not change throughout weather, humidity, tears, smiles, and time passing.

When she finally got in my chair as the last one to get makeup done (the Bride is always last), she was ready; not only for makeup, but to be married to her fiancé and have a wedding. A good test to see how in love the Bride is with her Groom is to ask, “And what is your fiancé’s name again?” How they respond is a dead giveaway. Erica was ready for her wedding, her day, her appointments, her Groom, and to give her vows.

Erica, thank you for having me on your wedding day! You were a flawless Bride and I wish you and yours nothing but happiness!
