Sara was my very first bride. She was gracious and very easy to communicate with during the entire planning process. Sara wanted very natural eyes so we worked with light browns, medium grays, and creams on the eyes; we wanted to keep the colors neutral. One of the specifics Sara requested was that no lip gloss be used (Pro Tip: do what your client asks! It’s not about the artist and what they want, it’s about the client, what they want, and their comfort).

Sara wanted a full face of makeup with lashes, but she wanted to feel like herself in the makeup. A damp makeup sponge/Beauty Blender is a great tool to use in this situation because the artist can control how much product is being applied to the skin. I applied two thin layers of foundation followed by concealer with a damp Beauty Blender. Sara got married outside, so we kept the foundation and powder matte so her skin would better combat the Florida heat and humidity.

Up until Sara’s wedding, I had only done Proms, plays, makeup just for fun, or friend’s special occasions. My first bride’s wedding day was not only an incredibly important day for her, but it was for me as well. It was that day that I realized the niche I wanted to be in regarding makeup; weddings. Sara was patient with me, allotted me all the time I needed, and dealt with the hustle and bustle of her wedding day at the same time!

Thank you, Sara, for allowing me to be a part of your special day, and in-turn, helping me find my love for wedding makeup!
