Caitlyn P. : My Glowing Bride (Party of 2) {March 7 2020}

Caitlyn is my glowing Bride! This lovely lady has come to Spyglass since the day we opened for regular facials and skin care. She always tells me she wants to GLOW, so that’s exactly what we did with her makeup and with her skin preparation!

This Bride is easily in the top three for best skin that I’ve worked with. Caitlyn takes incredible care of skin with a good at-home regime as well as getting regular facials with us at Spyglass (she flip-flops between dermaplaning and our chemical exfoliant). Because her wedding was on Saturday, we did the chemical exfoliant facial the Wednesday before to ensure she had a beautiful glow under her makeup.

**PRO TIP: Encourage your clients to have a good skin care routine. The most important part of makeup is skin care and preparation of the skin before application. At the minimum, encourage face washing, moisturizing, and sunblock. Good skin = good makeup!

For my glowing Bride’s eye makeup, we worked with light shimmery browns and tans; this made her green eyes SHINE! We wanted very light and bright eyes, so keeping the eyeliner to a minimum was a MUST! We did a tiny wing on the end of her eyes with liquid liner. Her lids were covered with the most beautiful, shimmery light brown with the smallest touch of very fine glitter. So when her eyes turned a specific way in the light, she would GLOW.

The base makeup on Caitlyn’s face was KVD Vegan Beauty’s Lock-It Foundation mixed with L’Oreal’s True Match Foundation. DO NOT be afraid to mix foundations for the perfect consistency and shade! On her lips, she wore the most beautiful shade of berry. I encourage Brides to purchase their lipstick so they can reapply after we leave.

Caitlyn and her mother decided to get ready in a room by themselves which gave them a few hours to relax in the peace and quiet before the (good) chaos of the wedding started. I always recommend Brides get ready in a separate room if they can help it. This gives them time to relax and think before not turning their minds off for the next 10 hours.

My glowing Bride’s Bridal party was so sweet and everyone was all different walks of her life; some seemed like new friends, some were old friends, some were family, and everyone was of all different ages. It was such a beautiful Bridal party! Regardless of silver, gold, new friends, or old, the love in the room was almost tangible!
