Laura G. : My Ballerina Bride (Party of 1)
Laura is my “Ballerina Bride” because she is an actual Ballerina! This beautiful Bride exuded all the qualities of a ballerina on her big day; she was calm and collected and had it all together.
This Bride wanted very light and bright eye makeup. Because Laura has bright blue eyes, we used a light pink eye shadow that works like a foil shadow when applied with the fingers over the center of her eyelids. We worked with light/medium browns on her outer corners and crease, then added a touch of chocolate brown shadow on the very outer corner to make her eyes a bit more sensual for her wedding day. So beautiful!
**PRO TIP: If you are using an “eye popping” color on the top lid, take the same color and put a bit of it under the bottom lash line closest to your inner corner. This will make the eyes more symmetrical and balance them out. Make sure to highlight that inner corner too!**
My Ballerina Bride is very fair (her skin was as beautiful as Snow White). While holding true to her flawless, fair skin, we took her foundation half a shade darker than she would normally wear in her everyday makeup routine. We do this because Brides are photographed all day long and into the night. With such drastic changes in photography, and flash photography, it is common for the camera to “wash out” our faces on film. By using foundation that is half a shade darker than a client’s skin tone, it helps even the brightest flash not wash out our Bride’s face, all while adding life back into the skin that a camera lens can take away. That’s a win-win if you ask me!
For picking Laura’s false lashes for the day, every one of her Bridesmaids gathered around to help her choose. If you’re not sure which false lashes would work for you on your wedding day, check out our Bridal Prep 101 Blog for the best false lashes for Brides. We ended up choosing a light and feathery lash to soften up her eyes even more.
Laura was such a beautiful and kind Bride and friend. Her Bridesmaids were all sitting around the floor doing their hair and makeup in the mirrors while telling stories and laughing about their childhoods and past. There was a peace in the room even through the stress of the wedding day rush because everyone was so calm. What a lovely day it was!
Laura thank you for having me be a part of you special day. You were one of the most beautiful Brides inside and out! I wish you and yours a lifetime of happiness!
